Overview

The Milton S. Eisenhower Library Renovation at Johns Hopkins University is a $130 million, multi-year transformation of the 182,000 sq. ft. Facility, its first major upgrade since 1964.

Designed to support 21st-century learning, the project emphasizes collaborative spaces,  and accessibility, targeting LEED Gold and net-zero readiness.

To support this ambitious vision, Tejjy Inc. was tasked with delivering high-precision 3D laser scanning, a critical foundation for generating accurate as-built documentation.

Business Needs

Precise data capture of the interior and exterior of a large, multi-story library building, with a focus on documenting post-demolition and post-construction conditions.

Reliable 3D laser scanning to document complex structural elements, including floors, ceilings, walls, and the building’s external façade, ensuring accuracy for architectural teams and construction professionals.

Enable a smooth renovation process by providing accurate as-built models to prevent costly mistakes during design and construction.

Challenges

Capturing detailed interior scanning for both post-demolition and post-construction phases to ensure the renovation work aligned with architectural and structural plans.

Coordinating with the general contractor to meet tight timelines while ensuring that data was collected in multiple scanning phases without impacting ongoing construction activities.

Exterior scanning of a large, multi-story building with complex façades, requiring high precision and advanced laser scanning equipment.
